Florida, Jacksonville, Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club, NRA sanctioned BPCR silhouette matchs held on the fourth Saturday of each month. Matches are shot a 200 meters - with the silhouettes reduced in size to represent the sight picture at their normal ranges. There is an informal BPRC shoot every Wednesday morning at 200 meters at an NRA 600 meter Bulleye reduced to present the appropriate sight picture for a target at 600 meters. South Dakota, Wagner, 1st US Infantry of Ft. Randall, Monthly shoots year round (weather permitting) on the third Sunday of each month. In case of bad weather the shoot is postponed until the fourth Sunday. We are a Indian War reenactment group that has been shooting BPCR for over 10 years. We also sponsor also a yearly "Trapdoor- Only" shoot, and the SD NRA Mid-range BPCR Championship. Rifle shooting is in two classes: Springfield “Trapdoor”- original rifle, or carbine, lead bullets, black powder or pyrodex, and original sights. (No Tang Sights) Trapdoor completion is in four positions, Standing, Kneeling, Sitting, and Prone. Open class - Any period BPCR rifle or reproduction with a hammer, lead bullets, black powder or pyrodex and iron sights, any position, cross sticks allowed. So far no scope class. Bring it along and shoot anyway. All shooting is done at 200 yards at SR-42 targets, (we are working on our 300 yard target area). Shooting 4 series of 5 shots, scoring after each 5 shots. 20 shots for score total. Competition begins at 1:00 with sight in or practice prior to that.Both Classes shoot at the same time. After the rifle shoot is completed, a pistol shoot with period style, black powder cartridge or cap and ball revolvers will be held at the same SR-42 target at 25 yard range. Adjustable sight are allowed. We have a covered shooting area and clubhouse located at the Robert Wiechmann range. From Wagner, SD - 5 miles North, 2 miles East, then 1 mile North. Come join us for a fun day shooting, in the middle of “Trapdoor Country”. We are an NRA affiliated club, with a present membership of around 40. New memberships are welcomed. Texas, Abilene, Fort Chadbourne Black Powder Silhouette Club, The club focuses on shooting NRA Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Metallic Silhouette Matches. The matches are held the second Sunday of each month, plus two-day matches are held in early October and early May. They start shooting at 9am. The range features 3 firing points each for 200m chickens, 300m pigs, 385m turkeys and 500m rams.
